Alerion III is a 26′0″ x 7′7″ cabin daysailer designed by N.G. Herreshoff and built by Herreshoff Mfg. Co., Bristol, Rhode Island, in 1913. She is shown here with her original gaff rig. In 1924 her rig was changed to a sliding gunter mainsail shown in our other print of Alerion III.

The 16′6″ x 4′9″ SS Class was designed by Benjamin F. Hallock of Center Moriches, Long Island, New York in 1908. There were 154 built from 1908 to 1968, and another 2 built more recently. About 50 of these boats still survive today.

Black Dragon is a 33′4″ x 9′9″ Concordia 33 designed by the Concordia Co., and built by Andy Brodeur, Achushnett, Massachusetts in 1959. Salty looking, with bowsprit, boomkin, and a springy sheerline, these cruisers were the largest of several similar Concordia designs of the 1930s, and pre-dated the famous (and longer-ended) Concordia Yawls.
