Far & Away is a 17′8″ x 6′0″ Nomans Land Boat modeled by James Beetle and built by Tom Jackson, Brooklin, Maine. She was launched June 14, 2008. Originally used for fishing and lobstering, their centerboards and long keels enabled beaching at night or to wait out bad weather. Nomans Land lies south of Martha’s Vineyard near the fishing grounds, but had no natural harbor.
