Iris is a 27′3″ x 8′6″ cat yawl designed by N.G. Herreshoff and built by Herreshoff Mfg. Co., Bristol, Rhode Island in 1889. Beginning with his own Consuelo, NGH designed several short-ended cruisers with full keels with either a split rig like this or a simpler cat rig.
