Masquerade is a 35′9″ x 10′4″ cruising and racing sloop designed by K. Aage Nielsen and built by Brighams Shipyard, Greenport, New York, in 1962 as Paprika. Rigged as yawls as well as sloops, keel-centerboarders like this made wonderful cruisers and, under the Cruising Club of America rating rule which encouraged the type, were consistent winners as well. The six boats built to this design are known as members of the Gumdrop class, named for the first boat built.
